Alannah Conway visited our school on Monday 7th February bringing with her the winning cup from their win over Antrim.
The whole school gathered to share in her victory in the school yard and made a guard of honour for her ,wearing their Fearghal Og Jerseys. Many thanks to Ms Flynn’s 3rd class for their fabulous banner and to Mr O Brien and Ms Scanlon ( proud mother of Alannah) for organising the visit. Thank you Alannah for being a great role model for all of these budding sports people! We were delighted with your visit!
Last week RTE cameras came in to film everyone in the school taking part in our annual Art For All Day. Micheál the reporter was accompanied by Micheál the camera man. They were so professional and friendly and they really made all of the children feel comfortable and safe in front of the camera. As soon as they left St Fergal’s, they headed back to RTE to edit their work and we were delighted to find out that the show would be airing that very evening at 4:20pm on RTE 2. A big thanks to the RTE News2Day for taking the time to visit our school.
We are so proud of all the children that took part, but specially those that were interviewed and represented our school so well.
Why not click on the link below to watch the report and have a look at some of the amazing art produced on the day! Below the link you can also see some pictures of the fantastic artwork. The children of St Fergal’s NS really are so talented!!!
Well done everyone!
This week we kicked off Be well month with a week’s activities about ‘Healthy Eating’. Take a look below at Ms Farrell’s senior Infants doing some Fruit Tasting. Next week we will Drop Everything and Boogie as Healthy Body week takes place during our big break yard time.
A zoom assembly was held on Thursday 17th December to congratulate Ms Carroll on her new Role as Principal in St Anne’s school. We wish her the very best after serving 20 years in St Fergals she will be sadly missed!

Yesterday, we had great fun charging some balloons with electricity by rubbing our balloons on our heads. We tested this out on tissue paper and Rice Krispies!
Last Friday , we decided to have some fun with maths. We did patterns, snakes and ladders , dice and tangram games. Welcome back everyone. It’s great to see you all again!
For our final week of what turned out to be a very unusual school year, everyone put the books away and GOT ACTIVE!!!! Check out the pictures in our gallery of what people got up to in their homes. We are so proud of how much of an effort everyone made!
Thanks so to our Care taker Joe Carroll for keeping our school garden looking so well during the Covid 19 pandemic. We really appreciate it!
We would like to thanks our Parents Association who very kindly funded our badges and reflective jackets with money raised from school fundraising events.

We came to school in fancy dress and donated €2 to PIETA HOUSE.

We often do DEAR time in school and this Friday at 12.00 you are being challenged to drop everything at home and read a book of your choice for fun.
Maybe an adult could send a photo of you taking part in the Drop Everything and Read Challenge and send it to your teacher on ClassDojo!
