Art For all Day

A big thanks to parents Adrianne, Audrey and Sharon for helping us all day with our Christmas art in Ms Brady’s second class and to all of the wonderful parent helpers for making last Friday a day to be remembered for all of the kids at St Fergals.

Paired Reading with St. Kilian’s C.S. First years

Our Junior Infant classes were visited by a lovely, enthusiastic group of first years who read the children some fabulous stories such as ‘The Gruffalo’, ‘Monkey Puzzle’, ‘Room on the Broom’ and ‘Bedtime at last’ in small groups. It was great to see some of our past pupils back displaying such confidence and giving our young children such an amazing experience.

Ms o’Sullivan’s Junior infants

Our Junior Infants have settled in wonderfully with a great start to their first school year. They love to play and have a huge imagination with creative toys building Mr Sargent’s office, giant towers, rollercoasters and more. They’ve spent time painting and playing at our Aistear time and also tried out some Montessori activities. They’ve enjoyed playtime in our sandpit before the weather changed and joined our older peers at Assembly on Fridays. Their Halloween costume day raised a large donation for Pieta house and as you can see they loved wearing their costumes in 😀

A big congratulations to all of the boys and girls who collected 215 shoeboxes for a very worthy cause. It was a great team effort by juniors and seniors alike. Well done Ms Hickson and Brigid for coordinating the project. This is nicely connected to our Amber Flag application. Remember our school motto everyone. “Caring for ourselves and looking out for others!”

Parent and Toddler Group

Time has flown once again and so many of these fabulous young children are now off to start their education in local preschools. We wish you all the best and hope to see you back here in two years time

Our Fabulous New Buddy Bench

A massive THANK YOU to our local Connect BNYP Youth Group who have worked together over the last few months to hanmale this beautiful rainbow Buddy bench for our Junior Yard.

Buddy Bench are part of a new idea that is evidence based to help promote our school's positive children’s mental health program. They help to empower children to foster friendships and eliminate loneliness in the playground.

If your child feels lonely in the yard they can sit at the Buddy Bench and find a friend. We will encourage our children to show friendship and kindness by inviting and including children who are sitting on the Buddy Bench into their games.
